Sliding Sash Windows
Sliding sash windows can add a certain something. They're a real selling point and can increase the value of your property. But they don't just look good.
Because they open from the top and bottom, they can create a convection current, helping to ventilate a room and keep you to stay cool throughout summer.
Box Sash Windows
If you prefer a more traditional look or live in a listed building, you'll want to preserve the character of the property. If this is the case, then box sash windows would be your best bet.
Custom made, the timber frames can help you add the finishing touches to your period property and won't stick out like a sore thumb.
Whether they’re sliding or box, at Abbey Joinery we make all our own sash windows which means we can customise them to perfectly match your property.
Our experienced joiners can combine their classic style with contemporary accessories, so you get the traditional look and feel with all the benefits of a more modern window.
Our windows don’t just look good. They also provide protection against the worst of the weather, and add extra insulation. Just let us know what type of glazing you’d like.
All our timber windows are designed to have the longest lifespan possible and if they do eventually need a bit of work, we can take care of that too.
Timber has great insulating properties, especially when you add in double or triple glazing. Our sash windows provide excellent soundproofing, so that even if you live in a busy area or near a main road, you won’t have to hear it every day.

Old wooden windows and doors in a cottage replaced with UPVC double glazing. Abbey came in with an estimate significantly below other local firms and did an excellent job with high quality windows and doors. The team were very polite and professional and made every effort to cause minimum disruption and mess for the elderly resident who was living in the cottage at the time.
The work was carried out quickly and efficiently and the guys came back immediately to sort out some minor concerns after fitting. I would definitely recommend Abbey Joinery and I would happily use them again
